Another Tough Day
The title pretty well explains Britten's day. The recovery from surgery is just darn tough! It is so hard for a parent to watch their child go through so much. Our family (including Karla) was down with the flu over the weekend, so Karla has stayed away from the hospital for the past few days. Steven has spent hours around the clock, trying to attend to Britten's every needs. Britt's dear, sweet Aunt Leslie, has helped make Steven's burdens lighter, by taking some of the night shifts. Oh, how blessed we are to have such a wonderful, caring family! We pray that tomorrow will be a better day.

Steven our hearts go out to you! It is a very helpless, and humbling feeling to have to sit by and "watch" your child endure such suffering. We remember yeas ago a General Authority (can't recall which one) saying that even our Heavenly Father must have gone to the farthest corner of the universe as His Son suffered so in Gethsemane. Makes sense. Karla, hope you feel better soon. We love you all and pray with all our hearts for some relief for sweet Britten to be around the corner. Hold on. The light will come...

Hang in there! I know it seems like time is standing still but it will get easier. This is some seriously difficult stuff; emotionally and physically. Take Care of yourselves. The helplessness is so frustrating but you are doing great! Each hard day done is closer to an easier one. Love and prayers

My husband and I are living in Malaysia. My daughter told me about your son as her husband is related in some way. I have been following since the beginning. I didn't know what to post so I haven't, but wanted you to know prayers are coming from Malaysia. Linda Jeffrey
ReplyDeleteOh how grateful I am for every minute I have got to spend with Britt! I have only done what so many others would love the opportunity to do. Some have been so hard to watch him suffer, but what an amazing person he is! I'm sure that every nurse that has attended to him has been amazed by how polite and sweet he is. He never forgets to tell each one thank you. It's very obvious spending time with him, that he was raised by some very wonderful parents!
ReplyDeleteLove you guys so much, Leslie
I pray for a better day. Thanks again for being an example to the rest of us who read this blog.
ReplyDeleteLeslie- I am one of the jealous :) I am so glad you've been able- along with so many others- to be there with Britt and help him along. I am so grateful to you. I am also so grateful for prayer; my comfort is that I know the power of God is so much greater than any help I could give. I love you all! Hang in there, Britten! Hang in there, family!
ReplyDeleteGood people, big trials, huge challenges and infinite progress. Keep strong my friend! Keep strong!
