Mothers Day

As I looked at the blog this morning and started reading the entry Lora posted, tears started streaming down my face. How lucky I am to to have her as "my daughter". Then as I started reading some of the comments, my tears continued to flow. What a wonderful tribute to all mother's. Thank you for making my Mothers Day special. Britten had a very rough day today. I dont want to go into detail yet, but new concerns have arised. His day was filled with more tests and he has had a very exhausting day. He did have a couple of good hours though, where he enjoyed a visit from his brothers. Oh how he loves his brothers! My heart is filled with joy as I see the special bond my 4 boys have with each other. 21 years ago, Britten Steven Schenk was born on Sunday morning. What a special Mother's Day gift God had given to me and our family. You see, Steven and I (and especially a big brother, named Logan) had waited 7 long years for Britten to come into our home. He has brought so much joy and happiness into our family, along with his 3 brothers. Yes, it took a long time to get our beautiful family, but each one of them was worth the wait. On this Mother's Day, I want to express my gratitude to my Heavenly Father and Mother, for my dear family, for the Plan of Salvation, for our Savior Jesus Christ, and that we can be with our families for the eternities. Sending my love, Karla

  4. Dearest Karla, Britt and family,
Thank you for sharing your trials and testimony with us. We are all strengthened by your spirit. We are immeasurable grateful for the influence you are in our lives.
Britt, hang in there. I cannot even imagine how difficult this trial is for you, but I am awed by your strength and faith. Thank you for your example.
Karla, you are such an amazing woman, and I look up to you more than ever before. I hope you can feel my prayers in behalf of you and your family. Every time I go to the temple, I put your sweet family on the prayer role. I don't know if I ever told you, but the morning we heard about Britt, the first thing I did was call the Logan temple to put your names on the prayer role, and the sweet sister said, "Oh, their names have been put on several times already this morning." If Father wasn't aware of you before--and of course he was--He certainly couldn't help but notice all the people who love you and know our only Help is in the Lord.
Our prayers are constantly ascending in your behalf, we pray for strength and comfort and healing for Britt.
We love you so much. Keep hanging in there.
    Remember D&C 98:3
Therefore, he giveth this promise unto you, with an immutable covenant that they shall be fulfilled; and all things wherewith you have been afflicted shall work together for your good, and to my name’s glory, saith the Lord.
    with love,
