Blessings From Above!

What a blessing it is for me to be with Britten tonight and report that he has had 3 good days in a row! Steven and Karla are spending some quality time with Canon and Jaxon, so I am the fortunate one to be with Britt. It was reported to me that Aunt Leslie got to see Britt and his Physical Therapist playing some "basketball" earlier in the day. It sounds like The PT had Britten playing defense and dribbling the ball, getting him ready to play some ball with his brothers! Britten then got a call from his very special friend in Brazil who is leaving on his own mission in 3 days! Britten was so excited to be able to understand every word of Portuguese. The day kept getting better when Britt had a surprise visit from Elder Frank, a good friend just returning home from his mission today. He had visits from a few other good friends as well, which really brightened his day and brought out his fun sense of humor. What a blessing it was for me to see him interact with a few of these wonderful friends that I have heard so much about! The wonderful end to the day was when Britten's family stopped in for family prayer, and Britten was able to say the prayer for the first time, and he did it perfectly! Words can't express the beautiful spirit as Britten thanked His Heavenly Father humbly for so many blessings, especially our Savior Jesus Christ. Today has truly been a blessing from above! 4. Prayer in the hospital together has such a wonderful power. I am so thankful you were able to be together for that blessing. The spirit is so strong, in the hospital, as all there are so humbled and counting on help from the Lord. We are extremely grateful things are looking better and better for you each day!!

  5. Elder Schenk and family, you don't know me, but I have been following your progress and praying for you, right along with so many others. It is always thrilling to hear about the good days, when great things are happening, but it is also inspiring to see your faith, courage and determination on the hard days. Keep it up. Thank-you for being such a great example.

  6. Before too long, Britten will be dunking the bb with Cannon and Jaxon! Their video on utube dunking the bb is still so fun to watch! I am glad that Britten has had some good days. Keep smiling on the not so good days. Your positive attitude has helped you to come such a long ways! I know that you are a very special young man!

  7. Sheri- so glad you got to spend time with Britten! I bet it was all so special! I wish I could be there with all of you- I never stop praying for you, Britten! School here at BYU-ID is going well, but it's very busy. I'm singing in Recitals every two weeks and working on my last semester of the Russian fluency program. I feel so blessed to go to the temple every week and I can't wait to get my Endowments in about 4 months! (after I get my mission call!!) I can't tell you how glad I am that we have the internet so I can keep up to date with how you all are doing. I love you immensely and I miss you! I am SO grateful for every good day that comes by. Keep it up, Britten! I am so proud of you. I love you all, Sherilyn

  8. Dear Schenk Family,

I learned about Elder Schenk's accident on the Missionary Mom's site for Brazil. My son has been in the field in the Ribeirao Preto Mission for 2 weeks now. My prayers have gone out to Elder Schenk and your family. It is amazing to see miracles at work. I know that it is God's hand performing these miracles along with the talents of those treating him.
Thank you for letting total strangers in to this time in your lives to feel the Spirit as I read about his progress. It is truly inspirational. Your Elder must be a great and valiant young man.
