Grateful for a New Day

How grateful we are for a new day! The nausea has seemed to subside and Britt has been able to eat a little. The vision in his left eye seems to be better even though it is still limited. There is activity of normal dilation in his right eye now, but still no vision yet. We are encouraged and have faith there are more blessings in store. Britten knows he still has one more surgery, but seems to accept it with a positive attitude. I'd like to share another quote from Britt's journal. "Don't give up boy, don't you quit. You keep walking. You keep trying. There is help and happiness ahead. A lot of it. 30 years of it now, and still counting. You keep your chin up. It'll be alright in the end. Trust God, and believe in good things to come." -Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. We know that Elder Schenk will never give up, and we will continue to trust in God. Steven & Karla

  4. I absolutely love that quote! Thanks so much for sharing. Britt, you have such faith and perseverance! I truly know that good things are still to come just like that quote from Elder Holland if we but trust in our Heavenly Father who can see the whole picture. We can't let our limitations discourage us too much in the present because if we trust Him, He has so much more in store for us than we could ever imagine! Thanks for the reminder to all of us. Love you all!!

Quisiera compartir parte del mensaje de Henry B. Eyring, First Counselor in the First Presidency, "Mountains to Climb": "'Many of you are now passing through physical, mental, and emotional trials that could cause you to cry out as did one great and faithful servant of God I knew well. His nurse heard him exclaim from his bed of pain, “When I have tried all my life to be good, why has this happened to me?”

You know how the Lord answered that question for the Prophet Joseph Smith in his prison cell:

“And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.

“The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?

“Therefore, hold on thy way, and the priesthood shall remain with thee; for their bounds are set, they cannot pass. Thy days are known, and thy years shall not be numbered less; therefore, fear not what man can do, for God shall be with you forever and ever.”'(DyC 122:7–9).

    Con todo amor,
