Jesus, Our Best Friend

Saturday is slower pace and a little more quiet in the Hospital. Britten still had several therapy sessions and did well with only one of them cut a bit short because of nausea. It has been a bit of a roller coaster ride because of the postponed surgery yesterday. 24 hours from now we will be getting ready again for surgery. We did a few extra therapy and excersize sessions in the room today to help ensure that he doesn't get any blood clots because he has been off the blood thinners for several days now. He continues to make progress in so many ways. His memory, recall and speech are improving everyday. His biggest frustration is his vision. Even though it is frustrating to him, he believes that it will improve and he knows that it is in his loving Father in Heavens Hands and if it is meant to be it WILL be. He will tell you that Jesus Christ is his best friend, and he is also grateful, as we are, for all of our friends! We pray for all who are struggling in any way this night. We know that Our Father loves all His Children and hears and answers all prayers in His time and way. His purposes will be fulfilled.

  6. We sat in front of Grandma Schenk at Stake Conference last night and had a sweet visit. She and Grandpa love you so much Britt. They, along with so many of us, have you in their prayers constantly. We know what it is like to "wait on the Lord" and to have perfect trust in Him. It is a difficult but defining path. You can do this; we are ALL behind you in every way. Have a peaceful Sabbath and know we will all be on our knees for you Monday and everyday! Love to you and your dear parents.

  7. I don't know you but I feel that I do! I am the mother of Elder Jordan Rupp. He went to highschool with you and he is currently serving a mission in Mexico. When we first heard of the news about you, I immediatly feel to me knees and begged Heavenly Father for your recovery. There isn't a prayer go by in our home that your name isn't offered heavenly. My cute 6 year old son in his personal prayers every night prayers for you. He too doesn't know you but loves you. Your example of missionary work and the testimony you share every day radiates to thousands of us. Even to a 6 year old boy whom has never met you in person. I love how this church works, not only do we have our close Family members, then our Ward Family's, and our whole church that is praying for you. This blog is a touch of humility to our family everyday as I read it and share it with my family everyday. I can hardly give an update to my family with out shedding a tear. I place your name on the prayer roll at the Temple each time I go. I know it has been a long rough road, but keep your chin up!! There are many of us who pray for you each day. Continue in the FAITH. Sincerely Sister Jodell Rupp

  9. I have been reading some of this for the first time after I saved the newspaper article and my heart goes out to you. I love the quote about faith by President Monson. Our niece has had a similar experience and faith has been so important to her family. Your family seems wonderful and so loved!

  12. Dear Britten and Family,

I hope and pray for a successful surgery tomorrow and that the spirit will be a comfort and a strength to you! My mom and I keep you in our prayers and read this blog every day. We are so impressed and humbled by your faith and obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ. What wonderful examples you set to all those around you, many of whom you don't even know. What an amazing family you are!! I want Britten to know how much I've always looked up to him. He's always been one to have a great sense of humor about everything and to always make those around him happy with his smile and charm. What a great friend he is to me and I cherish his friendship! Keep hanging in there and may the Lord continue to bless you.
