"Doubt Not, Just Believe"
The tests continued into the wee hours of the morning. But, he still managed to get some much needed rest. This morning, it was discovered that Britten had a severe ear infection. We and the Hospital Staff are hopeful that, that infection is what has been responsible for the fever, nausea and Elder Schenk not feeling well. There are many blood tests and cultures being monitored to be sure there are not other problems. It is already evident this afternoon that he is feeling a little better. We are optimistic that treating the ear infection can help him to get back on the road to recovery. We have received so many letters, cards, emails as well as the comments on this blog. Thank you all so much for your, love, faith and prayers. We cannot adequately express our love and appreciation to all who are pulling for Elder Schenk. We love you all! We can only attempt to express our love as well to our Merciful Father in Heaven and His Amazing Son Jesus Christ! We love them and can only try to express that love by testifying of them and striving to be obedient and faithful. All our love, The Schenks

That is great news. We hope that the antibiotics help to clear up the infection and that Britten can get back on the road to you recovery. We know we have a loving Heavenly Father. He hears and answers prayers. His son was the greatest example to ever live and still lives today. Absolutely no doubt.
ReplyDeletewe love you all.
keep smiling as we all are.
Love, David, Mary and the kids.
Oh good! Ear infections are relatively easy to conquer! You are always in our prayers. Keep up the great work Britten!!
ReplyDeleteWe are grateful for this discovery and hopefully a remedy to the fever and nausea! We also hope and pray for a less bumpy road tomorrow for you all!
ReplyDeleteTake care! We love you so much!
Hugs,
Melanie, Lyle, and Sean
I have diligently read your posts every day. I have a soon serving in Manaus Brazil and keep him posted of Elder Schenk's progress. We pray for him every day and I cannot help but believe that his mission is not over. He is blessing the lives and bringing the gospel to all who cared for him in Sao Paulo by showing that we do have a Heavenly Father that loves us and answers our prayers. I work in a hospital lab in Salt Lake and my husband is a long term care nurse so what most people see as a little step we see as a major victory. Our prayers are with all of you.
ReplyDeleteSo grateful for antibiotics today!!! Hopefully he'll be back on track with his progress and therapy in the next few days. I have a cousin who suffered a similar brain injury back in 2005. She was in a coma for 2 weeks after a traumatic seizure where she was without oxygen for an extended amount of time. It's been a long, bumpy road, but she now rides horses and enjoys being a homemaker. We're praying for more miracles for Britten and we continue to thank our Heavenly Father for all the blessings being sent from above! Love you guys!!!!

HAVE BEEN KEEPING UP WITH YOUR BLOG FOR WEEKS & AM PRAYING & THINKING OF YOU GUYS ALWAYS! LOVE YOU DEB LISH
ReplyDeleteWe have you in our thoughts daily. My son is loving working with Elder Squires. I feel grateful to your son for preparing such a wonderful companion for my son to work with. I guess they are both fairly new out there. Elder Squires has only been in Brazil for 3 months and my son entered the Brazil CTM on February 29th. Thank you so much for the blog entries. They have built my faith and have given me confidence as a missionary parent, that the Lord truly looks out for his servants and protects them the best he can. Your son's progress is proof of that to me. Sending love and hugs your way! Sheryl Halls, missionary mom to Elder Brandon Halls, SPEast Brazil.
ReplyDeleteI want to first say the family of Elder Schenk, I really wonder how this is a difficult time so delicate.
ReplyDeleteMe and my boyfriend had the chance to meet Elder Schenk, was not long but, I see how special he is! He is cheerful and very happy.
We know that Heavenly Father knows all things, he can do all things, we know that here on earth we have great power, a power that does work miracles, and this is the time to use this great power called "Faith" we must have faith to trust the Lord, we must have faith to follow each day with hope and with belief! With Faith in the Lord, we can all.
I want you to know That here in Brazil, many are praying for him and hoping he recovers every day more!
