Precious Gifts
Britten struggled again today with being nauseous. To be sick in bed really slows down all therapy's. So again, he got a lot of sleep that he missed out on the past 5 days. In the late afternoon he felt slightly better and decided to call his little brother Jaxon, to wish him a happy birthday. They had a short, sweet visit. Britt told Jaxon that his birthday present to him was something really great. It was him, walking down the hall and back! Jaxon said, "that's so awesome"! Sometimes in life we have to take a step back to really appreciate the small, simple things. A walk down the hall is a precious gift, that we should never take forgranted. As we come to the end of this 5 week journey, we give thanks for so many precious gifts. Precious gifts, like life itself, our dear family and friends, but most of all the love of our Father in Heaven and the pure love of our Savior Jesus Christ. All our love, The Schenk Family

Hardly a moment goes by that we are not thinking of your family and the trial you are going through. We have seen miracles and know God is on your side!! Stay strong and Keep Trying! Two steps forward and one back was our daily goal in rehab. You can do this!!!
All of our love & prayers,

So glad to hear the great news. We really hope Britton will start to feel better and continue to progress so well. You are an awesome family. Thanks for keeping us informed and sharing such personal information. IT increases our testimonies and makes us all realize that miracles do not cease. His mission is still going on in a different kind of way. Thanks for your thoughts and courage. I believe it helps us all. We love you and pray for you. Hope to talk to you soon. Take care. Love the Colemans
ReplyDeleteAs Katie, Sam, and I drove past SLC today on the way home from BYU, we looked over to the east to see the hospitals and thought and prayed for Britten and you. Katie got out her journals and read to us about the 2006 Serendipity trip to California. She described Britten so well, but my favorite comment was " and he let out one of those wonderful laughs that sound like someone with a cough being tickled!". What great memories! It will be good to hear him laugh again someday. Tell Jaxon it was Dan's birthday too and he got his brother and sister for a present. Those are the best kind.
ReplyDeleteWe will pray Britten feels better soon.

I bet that's the best birthday gift Jaxon ever got! So happy to read of his progress and reminding us all of the things that matter most.

It's great to hear such good news. I met Elder Schenk at a transfer meeting, but never really had a chance to talk to him. There's power in numbers and the payers of all those whose lives he's touched are being answered.
