A Great Day

We can't hold back the tears. Tears of joy, they are! Steven had the opportunity of being the temple escort for one of Elder Schenk's very good friends who has his own mission call, and leaves soon. The Sao Paulo temple is beautiful and it was a privilege to be there in Elder Schenk's stead. Britten responded to doctors, nurses, Mom and Dad! He answered yes or no questions by nodding his head and giving thumbs-up! He sat up in a chair next to his Mother for 3 hours. Light fevers still persist, but yesterday's cultures still look good. Miracles occur today! We know, and so do most of the hospital staff in his unit. There is no denying the Hand of The Lord in the events of the past 20 days! We continue to be grateful to all of you for your prayers and support. We still have a long way to go. With our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ, all things are possible.

  5. What wonderful, wonderful news! Thumbs up for Britten! And what a joy to be in the temple with Britten's friend. If he is half the missionary Britten has been, he will do well! I ran into Steven's parents today and had a nice talk with them. We struggled to hold back our tears as we talked of all of you and our love and prayers in your behalf. It just seemed so great to hug someone from the family! You are very blessed to have each other and we are so blessed to know all of you. Keep the faith. We love you....Jane

  16. I too. like others who are commenting on the blog don't know you personally, but reading every day I feel like I do. I too had tears of joy. Karla, when you said the nurses experienced this miracle I thought. Elder Britten's mission is continuing. They are seeing modern day miracles occuring that will help them know of Christ and some day accept the gospel. Eler Neil Anderson in conference this past Sunday said "Miracles are not alway's immediate". Believe in him in season's of difficulties , and all will be made right".What a priveledge you and your husband have of going through the Temple for Britten's Son. This time in your lives will alway's be a testimony building moment for you, your family and everyone who knows about Britten. Thank you for sharing this miracle. It strengthens my testimony!
