Rough Day
Britt has had another rough, rough day. Very high fever persists along with throwing up all day, so they have moved him out of rehab and to the medical floor where they will try and figure out whats going on. It has us very concerned because the ear infected is where the brain injury is. It is so close to the injury that they need to stop the infection. He has been throwing up all day and not been able to keep any medication or anything down. We just pray they can get on top of it. We really feel if they can just get him feeling better, that rehab will go great. We continue to remind ourselves that things happen for a reason. Heavenly Father is in charge. It is not for us to ask why, it is for us to trust and have faith and learn from our experiences. This is a tough one for me. Thank you all so much for your faith and prayers. Know that we all continually pray for him, and for your family. Your faith is what will get you through all this.
ReplyDeleteWe love you all so much. We know it's not easy and can't even imagine what you are going through. Keep praying and trusting in our Father in Heaven and our Savior, Jesus Christ. We all are. We continue to pray daily for miracles to continue. Keep the faith Britten. You are a remarkable missionary.

Set backs are so hard, it really tests our faith. But we know your faith is strong and Heavenly Father will continue to strengthen and bless you. We plan on fasting for Britten as well as continuing our prayers in his behalf. Hang in there and get some rest!

ReplyDeleteWe are praying for you. Just when things are the darkest, and it seems the night will never end, the sun comes up and the darkness disappears. I hope tomorrow is one of the brightest days for Britten! We love you all.

Karla, we haven't met but I want you to know that we are praying for Elder Schenk, you and your family. I have put Elder Schenk's name on the prayer role at the Frankfurt Temple. I am sure the whole world is praying for you all. You are an amazing example of drawing close and relying on the Lord when things are tough!! Thank you! I hope now they have found what is causing this vomiting that Elder Schenk will start to feel well enough to carry on with his therapies. He has done remarkably well ... I am looking forward to reading about the upcoming miracles yet to happen!! Love from your sister in the gospel!! xx

Hang in there! It will get better! In the early days this kind of recovery is always two steps forward and fourteen back but eventually the ratio reverses. Still and always praying for you all. Wish I could help carry the load.

Steve, Karla, our thoughts and prayers are constantly with you. Thomas and I were talking. If you would like him to come visit Britt at any time (maybe not right now in the midst of this) he would love to. They were good friends on the swim team and Thomas could maybe visit with and encourage,comfort him in Portuguese if you think that would be helpful. Thomas said it's interesting that you think and "reason" in Portuguese so long after your returned. He's been home a year now; can't believe. Let us know what you need. We love you. ReplyDeleteHang in there! We are praying so hard for all of you. How you have chosen to deal with each little moment has strengthened the faith of so many, world wide. Britten's missionary influence has reached beyond his mission borders, to the very far corners of the earth. Thank you for that.
